Abstract
New and remarkable bryophyte records for South Tyrol (Province of Bozen/Bolzano, Italy). IV.
Three bryophyte species (Cephaloziella colombae, Hydrogonium amplexifolium, Tortella angustifolia) are new to Italy, three species (Fossombronia wondraczekii, Pseudomoerckia blyttii, and Tortella pseudofragilis) are new to the Trentino-Alto Adige region, and Riccia
bifurca is recorded with certainty for the first time in the region. Six species are new to South Tyrol: Peltolepis quadrata, Riccia cavernosa, Campylopus introflexus, Grimmia arenaria, Schistidium marginale and Tortella alpicola, and for Tortella fleischeri a first reliable record for South Tyrol is provided. Grimmia atrata was last recorded 160 years ago (also the first recent record for Italy). Nowellia curvifolia, Dicranum tauricum, Meesia minor and Pohlia obtusifolia were found again after more than 120 years, Sciuro-hypnum latifolium after more than 110 years and Mylia taylorii after 100 years. Other rare or otherwise interesting species in South Tyrol and Italy are Anastrepta orcadensis, Gymnomitrion revolutum, Hygrohypnum styriacum, Mnium spinulosum, Pseudostereodon procerrimus, Rhizogemma staphylina, Sciuro-hypnum curtum, Tortella commutata and T. tortuosa s. str.
The number of bryophyte taxa known from South Tyrol increases from 933 to 950.

Abstract
The results of a survey on the planktic rotifers and crustaceans in 70 South Tyrolean lakes at altitudes ranging from 215–2892 m a.s.l., carried out between 1979 and 2015, are presented. The samples were collected both as part of lake monitoring efforts and in support of various scientific projects. The composition of zooplankton communities in different lakes is compared and the influence of environmental factors on biodiversity is examined. The total number of taxa amounted to 99, with 57 rotifers, 26 cladocerans and 16 copepods. The spectrum of taxa and their frequency of occurrence differed between lakes located above and below the treeline. Polyarthra dolichoptera was the most frequent species in all lakes, followed by Kellicottia longispina, Keratella cochlearis and Synchaeta spp. in the lakes below tree line and Keratella cochlearis and Keratella gr. quadrata in the lakes above tree line (alpine lakes). The cladocerans were mainly represented by species of Daphnia, Bosmina and Ceriodaphnia in the lakes below treeline and by Chydorus sphaericus above it. Among the copepods, Cyclops abyssorum tatricus played a prominent role in the alpine lakes. The rotifers Anuraeopsis fissa, Brachionus calyciflorus, Collotheca pelagica, Pompholyx sulcata, as well as the cladocerans Daphnia ambigua and Daphnia pulex found in this study of South Tyrolean lakes are presently not recorded in the national species lists. The analysis of the taxonomic composition of the zooplankton communities identified three groups of lakes, mainly differing in terms of altitude and trophic level. In the natural lakes below the treeline, the number of taxa per lake was significantly higher than in the alpine lakes and higher than in reservoirs. The number of taxa decreased significantly with increasing altitude but also correlated with the area of the lake and with parameters related to lake primary production and to the geology of the catchment area. The differences in the Shannon index values of the individual lakes were small, and the index correlated significantly only with altitude.

Abstract
This work marks the beginning of a new series of publications on first and new discoveries of vascular plants in the province of Bolzano. The series replaces the cycle ‘Additions and corrections to the catalogue of vascular plants of South Tyrol’ which appeared in 12 issues in this journal. The new series differs less in content than in its interlingual Latin title. Furthermore, different authors can now act as editors and the issues can be written either in German, Italian, or English, because of new academic requirements. This first edition presents 26 taxa that are new to South Tyrol, including the native and established Leontodon crispus, Orobanche elatior, and Ranunculus venetus, and non-native taxa with varying naturalization status, among them Abies cilicica, Actinidia deliciosa, Alcea setosa, Anthriscus cerefolium var. trachyspermus, Campanula poscharskyana, Centaurea montana, Chenopodium ×reynieri, Citrullus lanatus, Crocus ×luteus, Cucumis melo, Cyperus esculentus, Evansia japonica, Gamochaeta pensylvanica, Iris setosa, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Portulaca grandiflora, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Puschkinia scilloides, Reynoutria sachalinensis, Sedum pallidum, Spiraea chamaedryfolia, and Symphyotrichum squamatum. Symphytrum tuberosum can be definitively confirmed for this area. Also new to South Tyrol is Lamium hybridum, whose indigenous status is unclear, though. Also unclear is the indigeneity of Radiola linoides, which, like the native or archeophytic Chenopodium vulvaria, Potamogeton coloratus, and P. gramineus, has been rediscovered after decades of missing records.
